Race Report: Road America

On Saturday, August 3, the No. 57 IBERIABANK Mercedes-AMG GT4 took the green flag for the two-hour #RoadAmerica120 at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. At the checkered flag, Russell and Bryce Ward brought home a 13th place finish from the event.

The team improved on the No. 57 IBERIABANK Mercedes-AMG throughout the weekend. After practicing in the 19th and 15th places during the #RoadAmerica120 practice sessions, Russell and Bryce rocketed to the ninth place during qualifying, solidifying a top-ten start for the two-hour race.

“Bryce did an awesome job qualifying the car inside the top 10. I think it was one of his best qualifications of the year,” said Russell Ward. “He did an awesome job in a very wet start and managed to gain a few places. I jumped in in the dry and was one of the fastest Mercedes on the track. The team did an excellent job in constantly changing conditions.”

Next up on the race schedule is the Virginia is for Racing Lovers Grand Prix at VIRginia International Raceway in Alton, Virginia at 2:15 p.m. EST. The race will be broadcasted live on IMSA.tv and tape-delayed on NBC Sports Network on Friday, August 30 at 10:00 p.m. EST.
