Winward Racing has the opportunity to work with a diverse group of drivers from around the globe, each with a different racing background. Get to know them below:

Winward 1.10

After starting in Chump Car in the 24 Hours of Lemons and taking part in multiple club/track days, Russell and his father Bryce took the next step into the racing world. After a test session in a Porsche, they decided that racing is what they wanted to do full-time. In 2017, Russell competed in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge. The following year, he moved up into a Mercedes-AMG GT4 car full-time, competing in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge. In 2017, Russell brought home a third-place finish in his rookie start at Daytona. In 2018, he had a best finish of third at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park.

Born in Germany, but raised in Switzerland, Philip Ellis is the newest member of the Winward Racing team, driving the No. 57 Mercedes-AMG alongside Bryce Ward. Growing up, Philip wanted to race, but his parents wouldn't let him. At 15 he started SimRacing, but that wasn't enough! He started driving an old formula BMW, which lead to a contract to drive in the LO Formula Lista, where he won the championship the same year. Philip is very excited to be a part of the Winward family, as he says, ``the guys put in a lot of dedication to squeeze every tenth out of the car, while also having fun off track.``
